Course Description
Learn to manipulate different media in this fast-paced drawing adventure! We will create great works by combining graphite, charcoal, colored pencil, and more. The students will come to understand value and the importance of balance within their compositions. Come broaden your horizons as an experienced artist, or try out drawing for the first time in this action-packed class. A materials fee of $15 is included in the cost). ALL NEW LESSONS

Meet your Teacher
Amy McManus
Amy McManus received her BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she continues to take classes toward a Master’s Degree in Art Education. Aside from teaching full time, she enjoys spending time with her girls, painting, drawing, photography as well as gardening and renovating a farmhouse in Powhatan.
Amy has been teaching Art in the public school setting for the past twenty years and has taught at the elementary and secondary levels in both Powhatan and Henrico Counties. She is an active member of the National Art Education Association, and founder and sponsor of the Powhatan High School Chapter of the National Art Honor Society. Currently, she teaches at Powhatan High School.
Over the years, Amy has taught art classes and volunteered through the Girl Scouts, The Visual Art Center, Young Life, Adult Education in Powhatan and Henrico, and taught Summer Camps throughout the Richmond Area.
