Meet your Teacher
Mary Miller For as long as I can remember, I have loved art and the artmaking process in its various forms. I began drawing and painting at an early age. My mother enrolled me in a statewide writing and illustration contest when I was 5, and since then, art has been a source of exploration and delight. I received private instruction from various tutors during my high school years, and went on to study fine arts at Covenant College on top of beautiful Lookout Mountain in the state of Georgia. My fascination with creative processess led me into the darkroom, sat me behind a sewing machine and a fabric-dying loom, and pulled me into exploration of the natural world through oils and watercolors. I graduated from Covenant with honors in 2016 with a concentration in Painting. Currently, my work involves studying and recreating patterns found in nature, using primarily watercolor. |
