Course Description
If you’re a beginner looking to create your very first pot on the wheel, or an old pro looking to broaden and develop your ceramics skills and find your own artistic style, this class is for you. We’ll explore functional forms such as bowls, mugs, and lidded pieces. and concentrate on the basics of wheel throwing, trimming, surface treatments, and glaze techniques. The $40 material fee is included to cover the first 25 lbs of clay, use of tools and glazes, as well as firing. You will also have an opportunity to come to designated open studio times to practice your technique. Open studio time is not an instructional time, but a time to work on methods taught earlier in the week and meet with other students to commune and discuss your work. Additional clay, glaze, and firings are available. Pricing for those materials will be discussed on the first day of class.
Refunds are available with written notice ten days before a class begins. There are no refunds or credits once a session has started.
