Guatemala Exchange

The Art with Heart: Guatemala Exchange event will take place during the open house at ArtHaus Visual Arts Studio on Saturday June 4 from 3-6pm.For more information click here.

This is an event in which all children involved are interested in, or are students of Arthaus. The age range is 4-15.  Students from Guatemala have made artwork to exchange with students from Arthaus. They have made letters, dolls and jewelry to tell American students all about their culture.

Description

In this exchange we will be making an 8”x11” collage from recycled materials.  This collage will focus on the theme of Family.  Each student will create a collage card to depict a favorite place in which their family members, friends, or pets, are featured.  The time that can be spent on this project will be 30 min. to 1 hr. We would love to have any materials donated, such as old fabric scraps, papers, markers, or paints, to be donated to the exchange.  With the aid of donated materials, the students in Guatemala will be able to create their own cards in response.
